Privacy policy

Big Fish, Blue Sea™ (“the game”) and bigfishbluesea.com (“the website”) are made by What It Is What It Do LLC (“we”). We collect as little as we can.

The game

On your phone

Your career, angler, settings and progress are saved on your device.

Online play

If you play online, our server keeps: a random key your phone uses to sign in (we store only a scrambled copy), the name and username you choose, the angler you play as, your level and stats, and your match results and catches, so we can run matches, leaderboards and fair-play checks. We don’t ask for your email, phone number, password or location, we don’t show ads, and we don’t sell or share anything about you. Other players see your username, angler and results in matches and on leaderboards.

Backups

We back up the game database a few times a day and keep about three days of backups, so a broken disk can’t wipe the leaderboards.

Deleting your account

Email support@wiiwid.com with your username and we’ll delete your online account and its records (backups roll off within a few days).

The website

We count visits to understand how many people find the website and from where. We do it without cookies, without storing anything on your device, and without any third-party analytics or ad trackers.

• What we record for a visit: the page, the date and time, the website that linked you here (its domain only), any campaign tag in the link (like utm_source), your country, region and city as worked out by our host from the connection, the kind of device and browser (e.g. “mobile, Safari”), and taps on a few buttons (like the trailer or the App Store button).
• What we don’t keep: your IP address, cookies, device identifiers or anything that identifies you.
• Counting unique visitors: to count each visitor once per day, we combine the connection’s address with a random value that changes every day and is deleted the next day, and keep only a one-way scrambled result. It can’t be reversed, and it can’t link your visits across days.
• Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends either, your visit is counted as a page view only and is left out of unique-visitor counting.
• How long: visit records are kept for up to 13 months and then deleted.

The website is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes connection data to deliver and protect the site under its own privacy policy. We use this information only to improve the website and the game, never for advertising, and we don’t sell it.

Children

The game is for everyone. It doesn’t ask for personal information, and online usernames are filtered.

Your choices and rights

You can ask what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, at support@wiiwid.com. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have further rights, which we’ll honour.

Changes

If we change this policy we’ll update the date above.
